Ralph
Lauren and Tommy Bahama designed the furniture for this
upscale house. The style is an English Colonial Plantation
look to evoke the images of timeless island living. We want
you to be comfortable in elegant surroundings and yet enjoy
yourself with all the amenities of home.
A
Plasma TV screen is above the fireplace in the two story
living room to set a relaxing mood for entertainment with the
latest in technology. In addition to the cable TV, you also
have a DVD player and a library of DVD’s to choose from.
Wireless
Internet Access is free throughout the house and yard. There
is also wired internet access in the upstairs study that
overlooks the blue Pacific. The view will help you compose
email or letters while seated at the bamboo desk. It’s very
relaxing to watch the ocean from here. Though my favorite view
is of the Na Pali mountains and the peak called Bali Hai. So
named because of the movie South Pacific.
Printer
/ fax / copy machine combination is in the study. Paper is
provided so you can even print out your boarding pass and
avoid the lines at the airport.
Sunsets
are on the ocean in the summer. Whereas in the “winter”
months, the sun moves to set on the mountains of the Na Pali
coast.
Bicycles
are supplied, if you feel like traveling around. They are a
semi-mountain bike style with upright seating known as
“comfort bikes.” The Princeville area is level; which
makes for relaxed easy riding. You can just jump on anytime
you feel like it to ride down the street or to use the bike
paths to go to the store or to the Princeville Hotel. You can
also ride to foot paths and hike down to the ocean. The ocean
vistas are magnificent along the way.
Golf
clubs and bags are also provided; as you are a block from one
of the three courses. The golf bags are in an upright stand in
the two car garage.
Tees
and balls are included.
Snorkeling
gear is also provided for the adventuresome. The masks, fins,
and snorkels are in individual mesh bags that you can tote to
the beach. There are six sets and they come in small, medium,
and large.
After
a day of fun, you can cook on the large stainless steel gas
grill. The new grill has three burners, a rotisserie, and a
side burner. The backyard is large and level, surrounded by
hedges for privacy. But not too tall to block your view of the
Na Pali mountains. You can see the main waterfall from here.
While
the food is cooking, you can sit on the back porch (lanai) and
watch the birds play in the yard or the frogs in the Koi pond.
They both provide hours of low key entertainment. There is
also a coconut tree, an avocado tree, as well as a large
hibiscus and plumeria flowering trees. There are always
flowers blooming in the backyard.
From
the kitchen, you can watch the waterfall cascading down the
mountain face after a rain. It’s certainly my favorite way
to start the day.
