Hawaii. That word brings many fantastic images to mind: sea, sand, and swaying palms…a vacationer’s idea of paradise! One of the crown jewels of the Hawaiian Islands is Kauai. Far from the hustle and bustle of the busier islands, this tiny paradise is known for lush, tropical landscapes, quiet, private relaxation, and so much more. Whether you’re visiting the Napali Coast, Waimea Canyon, or the endless sandy coastline of Poipu Beach, Kauai is sure to provide an experience you’ll never forget.
Although the island is small, there are many things to do on Kauai – and one of the best is Kauai zipline tours. Ask anyone who has tried it, and they will tell you that a Kauai zipline is one of the most spectacular and unique ways to view the area.
When you hear about the adventures that await high in the air, you’ll want to check out the vacation rentals Kauai, HI, and Remax have to offer so that you can get here to stay, play, and soar!

Waterfall Zipline Course
The South Shore of Kauai is a spectacular place. Known for the beaches of Poipu and the Spouting Horn blowhole that sends water shooting high into the air, there’s a lot to see and do here – from seaside Kauai dining to high-end shopping. But if you look up, you may catch a glimpse of the Waterfall Zipline Course.
If you have 2.5 hours for adventure and more fun than you can imagine, strap in and get going! Each zipline on this course is different. Your first ride will be an 800-foot single zip ride 150 feet above the valley floor. Next, you’ll take an 1800-foot side-by-side tandem ride. You and your companion will be able to race each other on ziplines with the longest airtime of any zipline adventure on Kauai.
Your view will be beyond compare. Look down at tall trees and a forest canopy. Then, get ready to see the waterfalls! You’ll also get the very best view of Kipu Ranch, a place famous around Hollywood as a setting for many movies. Your local guide will tell you all about it.
But that’s not the end of the fun. You’ll also get a chance to unharness and jump into Bamboo Pool, a lava rock swimming spot. Finish the perfect adventure off with a flight on the Kauai Flyline, the biggest zipline in Hawaii!
The cost for 150 minutes of fun and flying is $139 for riders 16 and older and $129 for kids ages 7-15. The weight limit for the South Shore Zip is 40-280 pounds. Make sure you’re in good health. For their safety, pregnant riders are not permitted to zip. You can book this fantastic adventure through Kauai Vacation Activities at 1-855-ON-KAUAI.
Poipu Forest Zipline
Poipu forests on the South Shore are a great place to stroll and see all there is to see on land and in the trees! Animals roam, birds soar, and the breeze keeps you cool and refreshed. But the other way to take in the forest is high above, flying on a zipline! The Poipu Forest Zipline adventure is the perfect way to do it.
Get harnessed and get prepared. As you zoom along, you will see acres and acres of private Poipu land surrounding the largest body of fresh water in the Islands, the Waita Reservoir. You will zip over tropical scenery and gorgeous ravines. Eight zips will keep your heart pounding and face smiling, but the highlight is the most extended zip on Kauai – a half mile! Your guides will tell you all about Kauai history and point out all the fascinating things along the way. On this adventure, you will have the chance to ride upside down, backward, or “superman” style with a custom, full-body harness.
This tour lasts 3.5 hours and costs $149 per person for ages seven and up. This course has the same weight and health regulations as the Waterfall Zipline Course and can be booked through Kauai Vacation Activities.

Koloa Zipline Tour
One of the best companies on Kauai to experience zipline thrills is Koloa Zipline. Their 3.5-hour tour features three of Kauai’s most extended lines, including the Waita line, a half-mile long. They have a lot of harnesses to choose from that will let you soar in any style you choose! One of the great features of Koloa is their Ground School, where you’ll learn ziplining basics before the tour starts.
If you check out Koloa’s checklist of what to bring, you will be sure to have the best time! First, you need to make sure you have a hat to keep the sun off your head. Don’t worry! You can still wear a safety helmet. They also suggest wearing a t-shirt instead of a tank top to avoid chaffing. Pair it with sturdy, long pants to ensure the harness is comfortable. Your clothing ensemble should round off with closed-toed shoes and sunglasses for maximum protection and comfort. They suggest sunscreen to keep the Kauai sun at bay, bug spray (for those pesky mosquitoes), and, of course, a camera…but make sure it’s secured, or it will become a permanent part of the scenery below.
If you book directly with Koloa, you can cancel outside of 24 hours for a refund. However, if you cancel within 24 hours, you will be subject to a 50 percent charge. If you don’t complete the whole course, there are no refunds.
The cost is $156.45. Check-in times at Koloa are Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Sundays), but you can make reservations between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Contact Koloa at 808-742-2734 or email them at info@koloazipline.com for more information.
