You will be happy to hear that we have spoken to the owner who has decided to purchase 2 portable AC units to be placed in the master bedroom and living room of the unit. Unfortunately, one can not be placed in the loft area due to no available window to allow venting.

When you booked this vacation rental online, the rental fees were detailed during the booking process in which you agreed to. These fees were also detailed in the agreement in which you signed. The owner is working on replacing the kitchen appliances, renovating the upstairs bathroom and carpeting. Unfortunately these items take time and could not be completed prior to your stay. We appreciate your time and effort in leaving feedback regarding your recent stay. The North part of the island of Kauai is well known for its verdant valleys, waterfalls, and lush landscape. It is expected that there will be a higher likelihood of mosquitoes and other pests. There are quite a bit of articles & tips online about the local pests to expect during your vacation. We have all properties on routine pest control maintenance, and we could have scheduled a trouble call. Unfortunately, you did not provide us with that opportunity, and decided to immediately vacate the premises. There is verbiage stating that because we have no control over the island's inclement weather, and natural pests, we will not provide a refund because of those reasons to cancel or hastily vacate the properties. We expressed empathy and deviated from our policy to compromise by agreeing to allow you the remainder of your stay’s monetary value in the form of credit for your next visit should you choose to return. The owners attempt to provide a comfortable and attractive accommodation to everyone but with varying personalities of our guests, some will say less is more, and others such as yourself prefer to be encompassed by furniture and décor will say it's sparse. Regarding the portable air conditioners, unfortunately, this complex’s association does not allow central or split systems because they feel that the compressors will be imposing on the lanai and have a negative impact on the properties visual appeal. So, it was either the portable's or nothing. The after-hours contact should have been more readily available and not returned your call hours later as you mentioned. We are sorry you were further upset by being told that they were out to dinner as the reason why the call was not answered.
