Allerton Garden

This is a garden that does not use their admission money for profit, instead using it to discover, study, and even save different tropical plants found throughout the world. This garden consists of two thousand acres of land with five different gardens.

The plants that are gathered here are obtained through collaborations with other institutions and from expeditions taken. The Allerton Garden works with other agencies from around the world to help create an experience that will not be seen anywhere else. This garden has some of the largest collections of native Hawaiian plants. The plants that sit in the garden are often those that are at risk of extinction or are no longer found in the wild. The goal is to ensure these plants thrive and restore them to their habitats.

The Allerton Garden in Kauai is a wonderful place to visit for those of all ages. The garden focuses on educating the public, tours, science, and even conservation. When you visit, you’ll have breathtaking views of the South Shore of Kauai and can learn all about the unique plant life of the area. It’s a destination you truly don’t want to miss!
